Background: “MVS Training Workshop: Fixed-Point Guided Tour” introduces museum docent techniques and services, helping volunteers master practical knowledge and special considerations for conducting fixed-point guided tours at LCSD museums.

Details:

-         Introduction to the differences between docents and tour guides

-         Teaching docent techniques and etiquette

-         Explaining important considerations in fixed-point guided tour services

-         Sharing docent services and experiences in museums

*Training workshop will be conducted in Cantonese, supplemented by bilingual presentation slides in Chinese and English.

Date: 10 May 2025 (Saturday)

Time: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum (10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon)

No. of volunteers required: 190 volunteers 

Requirement: 

-         Interested in learning fixed-point guided tour skills

-         Intended to participate in fixed-point guided tour services at LCSD Museums

Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 3 April 2025 (Thursday). 

Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 17 April 2025 (Thursday).  The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
