Background: The Hong Kong Space Museum features two exhibition halls, namely the "Hall of the Cosmos" and the "Hall of Space Exploration", showcasing about a hundred exhibits, over half of which are interactive. These exhibits introduce visitors to the knowledge of astronomy and space science in an engaging way.
The Museum invites volunteers to assist visitors in introducing the exhibit "Solar Telescope" in the "Hall of the Cosmos", helping visitors to use the exhibits smoothly and understand the science behind it.

Monday, Wednesday to Friday
- Afternoon session: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and public holiday
- Morning session: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Afternoon session: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: “Hall of the Cosmos”of Hong Kong Space Museum (10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui) No. of volunteers required: 2 persons per session |
Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English - Polite and possesses good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good customer service manner - Form 5 or above (persons who have studied science subjects are preferable) - Volunteers who have attended the “MVS ── Induction Training Programme: Hong Kong Space Museum" on 12 November 2024, OR are able to attend the service briefing session to be held on 4 March 2025 will be given priority in participating in this service. - Details of the service and reference notes of the exhibitions will be sent to successful applicants via email later. |
Briefing Except for those who have already participated in the briefing session on 12 November 2024, all successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more about the service details. Date: 4 March 2025 (Tuesday) Time: 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Location: Hong Kong Space Museum Details: Assistant curators from the Hong Kong Space Museum will demonstrate the operation of exhibits, and explain the science behind them. Assistant curators will also provide points to note of the museum services. |
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 27 January 2025 (Monday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 20 February 2025 (Thursday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
