[Registration closed](MVST20250303)MVS ── Induction Training Programme Hong Kong Museum of History

Background:

To ensure volunteers are well-prepared for the upcoming services, we are offering a series of induction training. Each training will cover the overview of a specific museum / office (history, mission, future development, activities, volunteer service opportunities etc.), as well as an interesting sharing on the curatorial concept and stories behind key exhibition(s).

Details:

The training programme will offer an opportunity for the volunteers to interact with Museum Director and Curator from Hong Kong Museum of History (MH). The speakers will introduce the unique features of MH and its branch museums, as well as their volunteer services. The speakers will also share the story behind the curation of "The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series : The Great Unity – Civilisation of the Qin and Han Dynasties in Shaanxi Province" and other points to note.

Hong Kong Museum of History (MH) aims to stimulate audiences to look beyond our own history and to better appreciate the experiences of others by inspiring the public to go farther and deeper into culture and history. To enhance the public’s understanding of history, MH organizes exhibitions and seminars etc. on a regular basis.

Apart from the main museum, MH runs five branch museums, namely the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence at Shau Kei Wan, the Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum at Sham Shui Po , Law Uk Folk Museum at Chai Wan, Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery inside the Quarry Bay Park and Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum in the Mid-Levels of Central.

MH would invite volunteers to support on customer services and education activities. Its branch museums would also invite volunteers to help on Fun Days, such as maintaining order, crowd control and to provide usher service.
