Background: The "Gear Up – Nano World" Outreach Programme brings nanoscience and the diverse applications of nanotechnology in everyday life to the public through the travelling exhibition, including the comic story panels and interactive exhibits. The programme also offers a new “Nanoboy” Ornament Workshop, where participants can make their own ornament of the comic’s main character, “Nanoboy”, and learn about the properties of carbon and its application in nanotechnology. Everyone is welcome to join the programme for an adventure in the fantastic Nano World!

Date: 2 November 2024 (Saturday) & 3 November 2024 (Sunday)
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

| Location：Art Square, Forecourt of Hong Kong Museum of Art, Tsim Sha Tsui No. of volunteers (Max. Capacity): 4 persons each day |
Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate in simple Putonghua and English preferred
- Priority will be given to volunteers who have experience in science education or have previously provided volunteer services to the Science Museum
- Able to work outdoors for a prolonged period
- Polite and has good communication skills as well as a good customer service manner
- Form 5 or above
- Must attend a briefing session on the day of the event to learn about the service details (The Science Museum staff will contact the volunteers via WhatsApp before the event and share a video to help them prepare for the making of the ornaments)
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 23:59 pm on 1 October 2024 (Tuesday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 21 October 2024 (Monday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
